New motorbike for health worker

Sujit Kan Lal, the health worker at the clinic in the village of Jaganarthpur, travels to and from work by motorcycle every weekday to care for the people in the district.

Sujit Kan Lal tries out his new motorbike.

Sujit has to travel over 40 miles each day on dirt tracks which during the monsoon can become muddy and waterlogged and difficult to manoeuvre over, and there is no public transport available.

A motorbike is the best form of travel and Sujit’s old bike had finally given up the ghost, so we were happy to buy him a new one and both Sujit and the villagers are delighted with it.
